 A few kermit pictures |

Well, I snuck the camera out while Kermy and Scoot were freeranging in the hall and took some highly unflattering aging old manrat pictures.
I don't know if he's telling me that it's time yet. He's so thin and he doesn't have a huge appetite, but he does still explore when out of the cage. It breaks my heart when I medicate him, he fights it but over the past few days he hasn't had the same ammount of energy. Maybe he's getting used to it? But I have a feeling that's not a good sign.
I've also noticed his bum is almost always went with urine when I take him from the cage. Any idea why this would be?

I adore him. He is still a hunk-o-man. His bum is probably damp because guys love to marinade just as much as the gals.

He's got quite the dumbo ears, huh? You can really see his sunken sides in the last picture  .
I know he's a marinator, but up until last week it wasn't making his bum wet.
edited to add: his 28th month-day is coming up shortly! (8 days! *counts down on fingers*)

Oh, what a sweetie. My rattie, Ema, is at the same state as him, shes very skinny and lost her pink color. Shes now sort of a yellow shade. Her pee is a lot darker. I can tell shes not getting enough water. Ive tried evrything, but it looks like she wont last. shes telling me shes ready to go. For the last week Iv been feeding her the healthiest and fattening things in the house, but she gets skinnier by the day. hope your rattie will fatten up soon.

I know how you feel . It's really awful to see them waste away despite what you feed. I'm just watching him and if he starts to tell me it's time he'll be brought to the vet's to be pts. I hate even concidering it, but he's such a good old manrat that I want him to pass with the love and dignity he deserves.
