Post A very hard decision....
Well, I just wanted to let you guys know that after these last litters, I will not be breeding mice for quite awhile.

I have had quite a few people back out of their reserves, and that is a bad sign for me. It has been quite difficult to place mice in homes here, and I cannot justify continuing to breed them not knowing if they will end up in good homes.

My current resources are another factor. I have minimal space for my mice, not to mention jobs here have proved to be very tricky. I barely have enough money now for food, bedding and vet care for my current mice - let alone any babies I would produce.

I will be listing a few adults and the now available mice from the current litters for adoption on my website. If anyone is interested in adopting any of them, or if you have any questions for me, please email me.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Sad

Well, If you have any that you haven't found homes for by the next time you come down to GA, I'll be glad to take a few. Just let me know.

I hope you get started back up soon, and if theres anything at all I can do for you, let me know. Hug

I also would like to add kudos to you for making the decision to stop breeding now - it has to be hard (especially when you've put a lot of work into lines, and know that you might not be able to resume breeding before those lines have moved on) but you've done so anyway. Hug Here's hoping you can get good homes for the babies you have and that things sort themselves out for you soon.

Thanks, guys. It really does make me feel better that you guys understand. It was a really, really hard decision to make. It is true that I could lose my current lines completely before I could continue breeding...but that is a chance I am willing to take.

The good thing is my foundation stock all came from the same breeder in north GA, so if I did end up losing my lines I could possibly rebuild them with her help.

I am really hoping this is a temporary thing, and I will be able to resume soon. I will keep everyone updated. :)
