RE: Alternatives to buying/making fleecy hammocks |

You can also use jeans, bath cloth (the non loopy thread kind), old T-shirts, underwear (I saw some men's brief hammies one time), etc. Or, just buy fabric and string safety pins through and have a cheap hammie. I did that for years before people like Sondra, Dearpie and Shaz.

We had our christmas dinner at work today and I saved all the tissue paper hats and pieces of cracker and secret santa wrapping paper - I removed the sellotape from the paper, the bangy things from the crackers, and chucked it all into the cage - ratties are having a ball in there right now - Banzai-rattie leaps into piles of tissue paper followed by much intensive preening and playfighting

I am of the 'buy some material, cut, put holes in the corners and hang group'. Right now I am using this fuzzy stuff that I got from Wally World hung with plastic shower curtain holders. Works out fine and with a yard of fabric I can make 3 to 4 hammocks (double layered, Eugene likes to get between the layers) for like 3 dollars.
