 BABIES!!! |

My mom, being the wonderful person she is, has adopted 4 of Calla's babies! She took 2 girls, a fawn and a black berk; and 2 boys, an albino and a agouti dumbo berk. They're sweet little ratties, and are pretty friendly, though the dumbo boy seems a bit terrified. They're adorable, and I know they're going to a good home where they will be loved to bits and spoiled rotten  I'll post pics of all 4 of them and miss Calla later tonight.

We've discovered why the dumbo boy seems a bit confused...he's deaf. No amount of noise will even make his ears twitch. His sister (the black berk) seems to have been helping him figure out the ways of being rattie since he can't communicate with his fellow furries, so as soon as the wee lads are old enough, they're going to be neutered so that they can live with their sisters! We didn't get a chance to get pics since my camera died (grrr...), but we should have some tomorrow.

The babies have names! The agouti dumbo boy is Keller (after Helen Keller who we're related to; since he's deaf), the albino boy is Bart, the fawn girl is Dawn, and the black berk girl is DeAnne. She's coming to pick them up tomorrow, and I'm going out to buy more camera batteries!

Aaaw! I've never met a deaf ratty. He sounds like a real sweety (as well as the others!)
