 Cant tame my mouse.... |

I started out with 2 mice but sadly one of them died 3 weeks after i got it and now i only have one. Well this mouse wants nothing to do with me. He will occasionaly let me pet him but he will NEVER let me even try to hold him and i have had him for about 4 months now... Anyone have any suggestions?

You can try smearing some of his favorite treat, maybe peanut butter or avacodo on your hand and just sit there. It takes ALOT of patience but eventually he will come over to get the treat. Let him get onto and off your hand for a week or so before you start moving your hand with him on it. Its a slow process but eventually he will get to trust you. Hes just scared and has probably been handled badly in the past by other people. Once he is comfortable on your hand try moving your hand onto your lap with him on it, dont try to pat him but just let him do what he wants and is comfortable with. He wont run away or anything as mice move by scent, so he wont want to venture far off your hand or arm. Another thing that may help is if you wear the same long sleeve shirt everytime you do this. Dont wash it - that way it keeps his scent on the shirt. Most mice would much rather climb onto a piece of cloth than an arm. Good luck with the little guy.
