Post Catching a wild baby mouse...
We have mice in our apt, due to the fact (mostly) that our next door neighbor has a bird cage he keeps on the floor. When I have been over there I have seen mice - in the daytime - run into his parrots cage and steal food.
We see our house guests nightly and mostly it looks like the same two, but last night my boyfriend and I saw a tiny one, about 1 1/2 inches long and he isn't too afraid of us either, as he will run right in fron of us in our art room (the only room we have seen him in). The other mice will only run along the baseboards. I'd like to catch him/her but I haven't had much luck yet. We are trying to "de-mouse" our house, but I really don't think it will do much good with our neighbor giving them a constant food supply. But if we catch this little one, I'd like to keep him as a pet. Do you think this is a bad idea, with him being wild? Or would it be alright, since he is young? Any advice would be appriciated!

If they are young they seem to adjust, esp if you can provide them with companions. An older mouse might be to stressed out to adapt. If you look at my recent posts, they have been about a house mouse I have recently adopted. And Kate's and Linda's posts are about deer and wood mice, respectively. Good luck.

Is this mouse blind? If its acting differently from the rest and running out when you are there it may be blind.
