Hey everyone! I dont have a mouse but who here has Mice and Rats????? If you do can you take a picture fo them together because i really wanna know how much size difference! Thanks!

i have a Jackrussel Dog, A white and black Budgerigar, A mean Catfish and 10 beautiful Tadpoles. I am hoping to add two rats to the family.

I don't have any pics of rats on hand, and it's too late to disturb the sleepy heads to get a pic, but my fully grown male mice are about 10-12cm in length, not including their tails, and my fully grown male rats are about 27-30cm in length, also not including their tails. Of course rats are fatter and boofier, and females of both species are gererally smaller. Hope that gives you some sort of idea.

I wouldn't take a picture of mice and rats together...it would be potentially deadly for the mice, if you get my drift. Not to mention incredibly stressful on them.

But perhaps this will help:

Adult male mouse: He's sitting on a small houseplant, so it should give you an idea of the scale.

And an adult male rat. Much larger, of course. That's a fairly big shoebox he's snoozing on.

hmmmm maybe some one can get piccies of both (seperately) next to something that can give you an idea? like a soda can? i don't have meeses, so i can't help any..... but since i looooove looking at pics, i think it's a wonderful idea! wink

Well, you can't really get a picture of a mouse and a rat together...since rats are predators, and would kill a mouse if given the chance.

But, I can post some shots for comparison. wink

Yeah, I posted the wrong pic for them - those guys are actually 9 days old. Embarassed

ok, nine days makes more sense!
gah! what adorable babies! is the rattie in the second pic one of the ones from trinity's litter? i wanted one of those babies soooooooo bad!
and i just can't wait until i can add a few little mices to my menagerie! i want a couple of satins or long haired babies *sigh* they're just so cute!

Yeah, that is one of Trinity's babies. His name is Simon, and he lives in NY with his brother, Frisco. He was such a cute baby - and very photogenic. wink

I actually specialize in Satins and Long hair mice...well, when I do breed. It may be a few months before I start back up again. Mr. Green

They are AWESOME ratty boys. So licky and kissy and curious and sweet. Fabulous personalities. I feel so blessed to have them as our first rats!

Okay, back to normal! Ack, I can't to wait till November, Dash's litter is going to be SO cute.
