Gone.....just like that |
|
This is kind of a good story......I had one of my really old male mice, Mr Bailey, out for a play. I got up to make a cup of tea and when I came back he was gone (dead). Just like that.
Im sad that hes left us, miss him like crazy, but its not a bad way to go, sitting on the couch having play time eating treats.....Im so grateful that I didnt have to make THAT decision that we all dread as Mr Bay was getting very old and was not well. It was as if he made his passing as easy as possible on me - thank you Mr Bay.
Just wanted to share with those that will understand.....

Wow. I'm in awe of Mr B. What a nice way to go, for both of you. I would have thought that to die while being cuddled is nice, but playing is even better. I am sorry for your loss, but I do understand how you mean it's kind of a good story.

That is a nice way to go, happy and knowing he was loved. {{{hugs}}}

I'm sorry you lost your little old mousie, but I agree that he chose the perfect way to go. And I must admit, selfish though it may be, that I am always relieved when that ultimate decision is taken out of my hands. The loss still hurts a great deal, but it isn't compounded with the guilt I always feel on that final trip to the vet.
It sounds as if your little man had a great life and a perfect death.

I'm sorry you lost Mr. Bailey. But as the others have said, it does sound like a much better way to go (during playtime) than having to make THAT decision.
May your heart heal soon.

I'm so sorry you lost Mr. Bailey. It sounds like he went very peacefully. When Gregory died I was sleeping. He was very sick, but was starting to perk up while my mom gave him treats. Just then he died. I was so relieved he wasn't alone(he had to be separated from his cagemate, Ziggy, because of fighting). i hope your heart heals soon.
