Casper is two today! party

I said a while back they were gonna have a big party and lots of treats and I'd take photos, as Ellie and Merlin were 2 on October 25th(ish) and Ice and Peanut are 18 months, and Shifty and Fingers are 1 year old, etc.

But I'm dying here, someone said I might have bronchitis? I can't breathe properly, I have a sore throat, I'm coughing non-stop (=no sleep for 3 days) and it all hurts and I feel dizzy cos I haven't eaten much because I feel too much like poo to tidy up the kitchen, and Divad is working late all this week.

So the party and stuff is being postponed until further notice. But everyone gets a treat today anyway. I hope the rats don't catch whatever it is I've got. Don't think it's strep throat.

Anyway, yay for Casper, a retiree from Estelle, here's an old pic a posted a short while back -

He'll be doing more of that face stuffing today, no doubt!

And get well soon, Labrat. If you think it's bronchitis, do go and see your GP and get some antibiotics - especially if the coughing's waking you up when you get to sleep - otherwise it just drags on and is downright unpleasant. Antibiotics always clear it up in a few days for me.

Antibiotics won't work if it's a virus that caused it though! I hate the idea of taking antibiotics if I don't need to. I survive on enough meds as it is.

Casper says thanks btw. I have a sneaking suspicion he may have a PT

There's definitely something up with him besides any kidney problems, and he seems to be drinking a normal amount and stuff now. But he does that "pushing his head up sharply" thing when you stroke him from his nose and down his head. According to the Debbie D book that is a fairly classic symptom?

I dunno, something's up with him. He seems a different rat the last few weeks, I took him out for fuss earlier and he sat on my lap and tried to chew my arm. He looked a bit disoriented, and he's never done that before. He was mouthing my arm like a puppy or somethng. Plus he is covered with poryphin, and our vet can't find anything else wrong with him. He's made it to 2 years old though, so if I have to let him go, at least he's had a good life. He seems to be going downhill very very slowly though.

Anyway hence the planned birthday party! Oh well, I'll try and do it later in the week/weekend...

I do hope that he doesn't have a PT and that he'll be with you for many more months yet.
