I'm going to start feeding Suebee's Diet with Harlan Teklad Lab Blocks since Innova Pet Food is unavailable around here. Which formula should I get? The lady from where I'm buying it from recommends 8604, but I think 2014 sounds better. What formula does everyone else feed?

I use 8604 as it was recommended...but I can't figure out why because it has a lot of protein.... anyone want to fill me in on that one? I'm curious too!

We use 2016 at 16% protein for the girls and 2014 at 14% protien for the boys. Sublimental feeding is always done, of course, with fresh foods.

It does depend on what you're using it for - and everyone has their own preferences.

8024 is good for those with higher energy demands - youngsters, nursing moms etc.
2018 is good for maintenance diet but is recommended not to feed it alone.
Generally the lower protein formulations are better for weighloss and sensitive to protein rats, but from what I understand, it definitely need supplimenting.

If you are using it with Suebees (so a grain mix) you can go with either. The act of "thinning out" the lab blocks with grains and pasta etc will reduce the overall protein levels in the diet, as will feeding fresh foods that aren't too high in protein. But really it's personal choice and what you'll be doing in terms of extras in their diet.

Ok, thanks. I didn't even consider that the fact she's on Suebee's as well would help thin out the protein in the blocks... now it seems so obvious Rolling Eyes
