Ouch! I'm another one who's been away for a few days and come back to find this post - I feel like someone's locked me out of my house!
Gutted as I obviously am, I also would like to thank Christy and Jason for all their hard work in making this the first place I go to as soon as I get online. Although I've not posted much over the last year or so I still check the forum all the time. I'm another ex-Squeaker, so for the past 6 or 7 years these guys and all the other RP people have given me a home from home and taught me so much. I'll be signing up to RA straight away; hopefully if all you guys do too we'll be able to recreate at least some of the RP atmosphere! Great job Britt and Andy for getting the new forum up and running so fast - I think I would have panicked without knowing about that!
I'm using the same name on RA, so anyone who knows me here should be able to spot me there

NO! I just read the message this morning, and I'm crushed. Even though I haven't been here very long, I want to thank everyone who made my stay worthwhile. I thank the moderators and everyone who made this site possible. This is one of the best and most helpful sites I've ever found. And thank you everyone who supported me through the hard time when my rat died.  Goodbye... I'll miss you all

I haven't been here long but have learned to really appreciate y'all. I am a rattie beginner and have learned alot here and hate to see it go.

Oh no!! I have not been on here for a good year due to many things going on in life, and now that life is starting to settle down, I decided to pop into Rat Palace to see what was happening, and was so sad to hear it is closing. I have been here for several years, and I felt like people on this board were an extended family. I am going to miss it, but I will be around on the other boards now that I am back. Thank you to Christy and to Jason for making this such a wonderful place where we all learned so much, and thanks to everyone who helped me along in some of the most difficult times in my life. I missed you all, I hope to see some familiar faces at the other boards!

The strange thing is, I don't know why I happened to check in when I did, I'm in the middle of moving, trying to get work done, and just felt this urge to check the boards!! I can promise you that I will definitely be over at Rats Ahoy!

I go away for a bit and I happen to come back on RP's last day. I've been a member since the beginning and it is definitely sad to see such a wonderful community come to an end. I have made so many friends and met so many wonderful people through this place, not to mention the countless amount of information and advice that I have gotten from here over the years. Thank you, Christy and Jason, for everything you've done. It won't be forgotten. I'll miss this place.
We always knew that we'd look back on our tears and laugh,
but we never thought that we would look back on our laughter and cry.
