Martin Cages Question |
|
I've been looking at the martins cages on the website. It's hard looking at the pictures to get a good idea of how big the things really are. What is the minimum size that you guys would recommend for:
- 2 rats
- 3 rats
- 4 rats
The reason I ask is I currently have two boys and two girls (and one good cage) but I may keep one or two out of the babies Winnie and Oki just had. Also, although I would love to save up and buy them the humungous biggest one because I know they'd adore it I am limited on space because I'm in an efficiency apartment, and I'm also somewhat limited in budget (although really those cages are very affordably priced, I was pleasantly surprised).
Anyway, I don't really know how much room rats need to be happy and comfy so thought I'd ask.

Try the cage calculator website. I don't have the link but if you do a Yahoo search and type "cage calculator" it should pop right up. It'll ask you the demensions of the cage and then tell you how many rats can live comfortably in that space. Use your own judgement also, perhaps if you have a particularly large rat or one who is anti-social and likes more of his/her own space. Good luck!
