I went out today in search of a new cage for the little ones. What I found was a 30 gallon tank set up for a snake or a lizard, plus a million toys and a bottom heater(I'm guessing it was a snake 'cause there was also a drawstring bag in the bottom). Anyway, I cleaned out the tank using hot water and OxyClean and soaked all the toys (rocks and cactuswood along with a log arch thingie) in hot dishwater and OxyClean, then scrubbed them with a scrubbrush and more dishsoap, now I'm baking them in the oven at 500 degrees for an hour. Anything else I should do? Are there any diseases ratties can get from snakes? The maintenance man who helped me get it inside said no(he used to work in a petshop), but I wanted opinions from you all.

Awesome cage you got there. I just got done putting together a cabinet to make into a cage, so far I have so many cuts and blisters that I can't continue to put more wire on the thing!!! Yours was easy enough!!!! They definately seem to be happy in there!!!!
