 Not a good night |

When I woke up this morning, the girls had moved nest from the tower to the igloo, but didn't take the kids with them. Sorting through the pile only one was still alive, but cold. I warmed the single one up, and knowing there was nothing I could do for one that tiny, I just layed him in the cage and tapped the igloo to wake the girls up. Holly came out, sniffed and wandered off a few times, before finally coming back and carrying it into the igloo. I don't have high hopes, but we'll see.

Oh no. 
Right off I'm thinking there must have been something wrong with the litter, cos for two females to abandon them would be unusual. The mom doing so could mean that 1) there was either something "wrong" with her (not maternal enough, my dog wasn't very maternal with her two litters); or 2) something wrong with the babies. But both girls deserting makes me think it may have been the babies, since you'd thik at least one girl would show a maternal instinct if the other didn't.

As suspected, the last one didn't make it. Sometimes things are for a reason. Now we'll just hope that the new girl isn't prego and our baby days will be over.
