Well, not exactly again...

Exactly 2 weeks ago (as of Saturday the 11th), I was almost sure that Callie was pregnant. Shadow got out of his cage, and in to hers, 2 days after he was neutered, but she also managed to escape when Firmin and Andre (who were unneutered) were running.

The next Saturday, Callie went into heat, and I was almost positive she was not pregnant.

Someone (I think it was Andy), said that I couldn't be sure until she went into heat again. I don't know that she didn't go into heat on Wednesday/Thursday, but I also don't know if she did. I didn't notice she was in heat last Saturday until around 11pm, but I wasn't up that late on Wednesday and Thursday (which is when she would go into heat again).

Now, she seems to be showing a little. Her nipples seem to be more noticable, and her belly also looks a little extended.

Rats generally start to show at about 2 weeks (right?), so this would be the right time period.

As far as I can tell, there are no changes in her behavior. She is still a hyper little monkey, who can get into/out of whatever she wants.

The problem is that I stopped giving her tons of high protein/fat foods a week ago (she still got extra, but not as much), and she is only 10 weeks old, and small.

Right now she has her normal Suebee's (but with cat food instead of dog food), hard-boiled egg, and some greens.

Any advice? I am going to try to get some decent belly pics soon, and I am going to make the nursery cage a little better (more air holes and stuff).

BTW, it is so weird that we have been having so many accidental litters recently. It must have something to do with Febuary being prevent a litter month.

Also, I think Callie is a high white. Her blaze seems recessive, but I *think* she is odd-eyed. It looks like her left eye is dark ruby (the iris looks ruby), and her right eye is black.

She is absolutely beautiful, Elliesgirl, very very pretty rat. She looks bigger than both my girls, but you said she wasnt always that pudgy? Hmm, does it feel like there are little "things" (babies!) in her belly? If not today, then very soon, they should be detectable.

I guess all these unplanned litters are happening because the parents were getting ready for Valentines day, haha! wink

Have you started thinking abt homes for them, just in case? Shame you live so far, Id snatch one up in a heartbeat, we could always use some more ratty luv here Heart

Oh yes, she was an angry rat. She is well socilized, but is also young and doesn't like to be held (she wants to be running somewhere). Callie is getting bigger (she was really small when I got her). Her belly is also looking slightly more rounded, not just like she is getting fat.

I can't feel the babies *yet*, but I am pretty sure that she is pregnant, so soon.

As for finding them homes, I haven't really started yet, because I don't even know if they are going to be born (though I am fairly sure).

Callie seems to have calmed down overnight. Seriously, she was sleeping when I found her, and sat in my lap for a minute or so. Does that mean anything?

I am sure she is a high white though. One eye is ruby and the other is black. Is there any way to figure out the chance of the babies having MC?

Honestly, she doesn't look pregnant to me.

My girls were huge by 2 weeks.

She kinda looks pregnant in the second pic...but none of the others. The ones from the top she looks like a normal sized rat...personally I think she would be bigger than that by 2 weeks...but keep watching if she gets bigger!

She the most like the second pic today Sad

Does anyone know what color she is? I know the pic of her face is blurry, but can anyone tell?
