so my friend drug me off to the pet store the other day to look at fishes for his tank.... i of course went to see the small furries. now, normally they only carry pew mice, because they primarily sell them as feeders. but they had two adorable little fox faced agouti girl meese! i wanted them! badly! i've been wanting mice for quite a while, and so does david.... but i resisted..... it was so hard.... i'm proud of myself, though. i just have to keep reminding myself, we're moving to alaska, i have to wait until after the move.....

Good for you! I want mice also, but I refuse to add to my cage collection untill their is A) an emty cage I already have or B) Until I move out next summer. Although it kills me to go to Petsmart because they have two of the cutest girls I've ever seen. Heart

see, that made it even harder.... i have a cage and everything i would need for a couple little meeses. **chants repetedly** we're moving to alaska, we're moving to alaska......

I don't think I'd be able to resist than... Better keep repeating that you are moving... But if you aready have the cage and suff you'd have to move it anyway so why not move it with a few mice in it. wink

If I saw 2 absolutely adorable agouti girls in a shop that primarliy sells as feeders, I would have to buy them! I can just hear them calling 'save us, save us'.

I want meeses to, but like rat_hammie_lover05, I need an empty cage, and a lot more knowldge about mice (which I am trying to get).

well the reason i had to resist, and was so proud of myself for it, is we're moving to alaska from new mexico next september. and we're driving. so it will be myself, my husband, a saint bernard, a min pin, and hopefully (but doubtfully) all my ratties in a honda element for a five day (at least) trip. if i were to adopt another rat, it would be one thing, it could go into a travel cage with an already existing group, but if i were to get mice, i would need yet another cage in the car. the airforce will be moving most of our stuff, we will be hauling a u-haul with all our neccessities (including the permenent cages) but i'm fighting hard to resist the urge to add another spieces to the horde right now...... i also really really really want a fat old neutered long-haired kitty.......

That IS alot of critters. You can adopt some more when you are in Alaska though.

I have a lot of respect for you right now! I think most of us know how hard it is to resist. You are being very responsible. It's not easy. Kudos!
