is it true that if a rat can get its head throuigh the spaceing of the wire, then they can squeeze the rest of their bodies out?

I've heard that, but I think it must depend on how badly they want out...mine can get their heads through the bars of my cube shelving (you know those wire cubes you put together to form shelves?) but they can't get their bodies through. Now they can climb around, so maybe they don't desire getting through bad enough, and go around instead...I'm not sure.

I wouldn't want to risk putting them in a cage with spacing like that. They might be able to get their heads through, but not back out.

Well, I know that Twitch had some trouble with her new cage, and the girls getting out for some unplanned free range time... My boy's bodies are too fat, so i guess it just depends on the build of your ratties!
