What Martin's cage do you recommend for 2 adult female rats? |
|
So I was thinking of getting a buddy for Pheona. And her cage is to small for two rats so what Martin's cage do you recommend for two female ratties? I was thinking either the H-600HR or the R-690? Does anyone have a photo of these cages so I can see what they would loook decorated and stuff? And with rats in them so I can see how big they would be compared to rats. Becuase I want a big cage for them but don't want to spend like 100$ !

As you can see from that diagram... the 600HR is still only big enough for one rat.
If by R-590, you mean R-690, than that would be your better bet by far....
Personally I think if you are trying to stay in the affordable range, look at the R-680... Its a little bit cheaper than the R-690 and would be a heck of a lot easier to clean, and also easier on the ratties as they get older, from what I've gathered from people on here.
Edit: Its actually the R-685 that most people recommend, but I'm sure the R-680 would be fine if you just hang up a hammock or two in the open spaces, as there is no full second level.

I think the R-685 looks good. Ill have to wait until I have at least 200$ in the vet fund until I buy it though just in case. Then ill start saving up to buy that. I think the R-685 will be good becuase if the Pheona and the other rat gets along I may get another one. Do you know of any pictures of the R-685 that are fully decorated?

I'm not sure, but there is a picture of Christy's R-695 in the Photo Gallery decorated...
http://www.ratpalace.com/index.php?set_albumName=album02&id=Picture_001&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php
I ordered the 695... With exchange rate and shipping it came to $210 for me but from what I've read it should be worth it.
(And rats are addicting, watch out!! I started with just one, then read on this board that I should get her a friend... I now have 3 and am planning to ship in a Blue from out of province if I can to be a 4th rat in my clan!)

I know I have had them for years! Ya I checked the shipping for the R- 685 and it comes to a little more then 100$ ! I guess ill just have to wait a little longer to get it then. But I guess it will be worth it in case I get more!
